Article of faith

—We believe in the verbal inspiration of the word of God and that it is the only infallible rule of faith and conduct for the Christian. [2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peters 1:21] we believe in one God eternally existing in three persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. These Three are co-eternal and co-equal. [John 1:1-2; Acts 10:38]
—We believe in the deity of Jesus Christ, his virgin birth, his sinless and perfect life; his vicarious and substitutionary death through the shedding of his blood on Calvary for the sins of mankind. [Matthew 1:21-23]
—We believe that man is born in sin and a sinner by nature and practice and can not save himself, except by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, and man’s hope of eternal life is only through Jesus Christ. [Romans 3:23; Ephesians 2:8]
—We believe that Jesus is the only mediator between God and man. [Hebrews 12:24] we believe in the Holy Spirit, the Comforter, indwelling all believers, enabling and empowering them in their daily lives and ministries. [I Corinthians 3:16; Philippians 2:13]
—We believe in the baptism of the Holy Ghost and the gifts of the spirit and their free exercise in the church of Christ for the ministry and the building up of the body of Christ. [Matthew 3:11; Acts 2:1-4]
—We believe in the body of Christ, in godliness and holiness of life without which no man will see God. [2 Corinthians 7:1; I Thessalonians 4:7; Hebrews 12:14]
—We believe in the two sacraments as instituted by the Lord Jesus Christ, baptism by immersion and the Lord’s Supper. [Matthew 28:19; I Corinthians 11:23-34]
We believe in the stewardship of life and divine truth, and that money should be given by way of tithes and offerings for the support of the ministry. [Malachi 3:10; I Corinthians 16:1-2]
—We believe our body is the temple of God in which the Holy Spirit dwells and should be kept undestroyed. We therefore believe in total abstinence from all intoxicants and tobacco. [I Corinthians 6:19]
—We believe in the sacredness of the institution of marriage as an unbroken union between a man and a woman until death as ordered by God and a bed undefiled by sexual sins. [Matthew 19:5-6; Hebrews 13:4]
—We believe that godly men and women should dress modestly with good deeds appropriate for those who profess to worship God. [I Timothy 2:9-10]
—We believe in the commission, Christ’s last command that is our mission to preach the gospel to the lost and make disciple of all nations, teaching them to observe all things commanded by him. [Matthew 28:19-20]
—We believe in divine healing in the name of Jesus Christ and the anointing of the sick. [James 5:14-15]
—We believe that Satan exists and his array of demons is operating in the hearts of the unregenerated man and their final destruction will be at the end of the age. [Matthew 4:1-11; I John 3:8-10; Revelations 20:10]
—We believe in the rapture of the church, the bodily resurrection of the just and unjust, the eternal bliss of the saved and the eternal punishment of the lost. [I Thessalonians 4: 13-18; John 3:16-21]
—We believe in the final reward of the saved and judgment of the unsaved for their evil works. [Revelations 20:11-15; chap. 21 & 22]
—We believe in the literal return of Jesus Christ to rule and reign on this earth for a thousand years. [Revelations 20:1-6]
—We believe in the new heaven and the new earth. Death will be swallowed up in victory, and that God may be all in all. [Revelations 21:1]
